MAKING THE MOST OF A VERY SMALL BEDROOM SPACE AND GETTING COZY
The pictures directly above are of an unfurnished room that is to be a bedroom. This space is only slightly over 8' x 8' in size with
large open entrance areas on two sides, which in this case are both a blessing and a curse. Need for privacy will be an issue as
well as need to maximize the space and not feel crowded at the same time.
The pictures above are work in progress. We are working mainly with what we already have and have decided to avoid new
purchases as much as possible. Luckily a plan is developing easily based on furniture, bedding, accessories, art and fabrics
that are already available and that will give desired warmth to an otherwise neutral and cold space.
Above pictures show the end result of this design project. The room is now inviting and the warm colors provide softness that
was lacking prior to adding light and art into this space. We managed to create a cozy space using what we already had.
The details above correlate with pictures number one and four in the first row. There are curtains that are always drawn covering
one of the entrance ways and a large curtain that provides privacy when so desired that is usually pulled to the side of the other
entrance. There is also a carbon monoxide alarm (now required by law) attached on the wall in an appropriate location.
The mood in this room can be altered by dimming the lights. The pictures above show a more subtle setting that works well.
Welcome! Here is a cozy nest for two.
